The "churchy" stuff

If it's good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for us

What we believe

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write words of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible is without error in its original form.

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the fallen and sinful world. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Him, and to make all things new through Christ. The Holy Spirit, the third member of the Trinity, is fully God and sent to empower and inform believers until the return of Jesus Christ.

We believe that Jesus Christ was/is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, one Person in two natures. Jesus—Israel's promised Messiah—was conceived through the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the Holy Spirit, in all that He does, glorifies Jesus Christ. He convicts the world of its guilt. He regenerates and restores sinners, and in Him they are brought into union with Jesus and adopted as members of the family of God. He also lives inside of, illuminates, guides, equips and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service.

We believe that man was created in the image of God to have a relationship with Him, but was alienated/separated from that relationship because of sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort. It is only through the grace offered us by Jesus that we can be made right with Him.

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his/her faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his/he sin and begins a life dedicated to serving and following Him.

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for themself. By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Spirit, every believer will mature and become more like the image of Christ.

We believe that the church is the body and family of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted Jesus by faith and are becoming the  finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world.

We believe in the personal and bodily return of Jesus Christ. The coming of Christ, at a time known only to God, should motivate us in godly living, sacrificial service and energetic mission.
