Looking to get involved?
Use your unique gifts to help build the Kingdom.
HILLCITY exists and funtions because it is a group of PEOPLE, not a church building. To that end, we have a TON of volunteers helping us to "make church happen" every week. Things like setting up and tearing down, teaching kids and hanging out with teens, playing on our worship team, or helping with technology; all these are crucial to the success of our church and it's mission. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to get involved at HILLCITY, we encourage you to read through some of the FAQ's below, and consider sending us your information, so we can get you connected with someone who will help you take the next steps!
Volunteer FAQ
How do I volunteer?
The process is pretty simple. Send us your information and tell us what interests you, and we'll contact you to walk you through the next steps. If you're working with kids, you'll need to pass a background check. Once you're connected, we'll let you come try it out and ask the specific ministry contact any questions you might have, and make sure it's a good fit. No pressure involved, just come give it a shot and see if you'd like to continue.
What if I don't know what I want to do?
There truly are all sorts of areas for people to volunteer at HILLCITY. Kids, youth group, technology, setup, welcome team, event planning and more. So if you're wondering which of these things might be for you, we'll connect you with someone who can talk you through what each role looks like, and what your passions and gifts are - and we'll find the fit that's right for you!
How do I volunteer with music?
We have people who'd like to join the worship team come and play with us for a few Sunday rehearsals before becoming a more permanent member of the team. This helps us to make sure everyone is on the same page, and feels comfortable with how we rehearse, and what the expectations are. Usually people play once or twice a month after that, and the rehearsals are Sunday mornings before the worship service.
How do I volunteer with students?
You don't have to be a parent to volunteer with kids. Anyone can talk to students about Jesus! If you think this might be the area for you, we'll hook you up with either or Kids Director or our Youth Group leader, and they can give you a more in depth understanding of what we do. In short, we have age appropriate small groups that are facilitated by volunteers, who share their own faith journey with the kids as we encourage them and help them grow. All volunteers in this area must pass a criminal background check in order to participate.
